Selecting commands and contexts in the map Selecting commands When you click on a command in the map, the rule editor panel is updated to show the rule that contains that command, and the command is shown in bold. It is important to understand that by selecting a command in the map you are selecting the whole rule that contains it. Selecting contexts When you click on a context in the map, the rule in the rule editor panel does not change, because several rules could have the same context. You are not choosing a rule when you select a context in the map. The map is the only place you can select contexts, and any contexts selected in the map are ignored when you are duplicating, deleting, or raising and lowering rules. Selecting multiple items To select multiple items in the map (commands or contexts), Shift-click on them or click outside any item and drag to select all items in a selection rectangle. Making a multiple selection will not change which rule is selected in the rule editor panel. Deselecting items To deselect all items, click outside any item. Clicking to select an item that is not selected will deselect all other items. As with the table, you can change which rule is shown in the rule editor panel without losing your multiple selection. Click on a selected command to see its rule in the rule editor panel. |
