What is a settings file?

The settings file is where PlantStudio saves your preferences and other options until the next time you use the program. This includes drawing and export options, wizard settings, breeding options, and window positions. Each time you leave the program, PlantStudio saves this information for your next use. The settings file is normally called PlantStudio.ini and resides in your Windows directory, but you can use an alternate settings file.

IMPORTANT: Since your special options are valuable, we recommend backing up your settings file every once in a while. You can always re-install PlantStudio if you have a hard disk failure or other problem, but you can't get your settings file back.
