Smoothed mean maximum temperature today: The long-term average
maximum temperature for today, calculated by interpolating between the long-term monthly values for the
two months whose midpoints (on the 15th) are before and after this day of the year. Used to generate
today's maximum temperature.
Smoothed mean minimum temperature today: The long-term average minimum temperature for
today, calculated by interpolating between the long-term monthly values for the two months whose
midpoints (on the 15th) are before and after this day of the year. Used to generate today's minimum
temperature.
Smoothed mean probability of wet day today: The long-term
average probability of a wet day for today, calculated by interpolating between the long-term monthly
values for the two months whose midpoints (on the 15th) are before and after this day of the year. Used to
decide whether it will rain.
Smoothed mean radiation today: The long-term average solar radiation for today, calculated by
interpolating between the long-term monthly values for the two months whose midpoints (on the 15th) are
before and after this day of the year. Used to generate today's solar radiation.
Smoothed mean relative humidity today: The long-term average relative humidity for today,
calculated by interpolating between the long-term monthly values for the two months whose midpoints (on
the 15th) are before and after this day of the year. Used to generate today's relative humidity.
Smoothed mean wind speed today: The long-term average wind speed for today, calculated by
interpolating between the long-term monthly values for the two months whose midpoints (on the 15th) are
before and after this day of the year. Used to generate today's wind speed.
Mean maximum temperature today: The mean of the distribution from which to choose today's maximum temperature. Comes
from long-term monthly average maximum temperatures interpolated (smoothed) for this day of the year,
and from whether this is a 'wet' or 'dry' day (dry days are hotter).
Mean radiation today: The mean of the distribution from which to choose today's solar radiation.
Comes from long-term monthly average radiation interpolated (smoothed) for this day of the year, and
from whether this is a 'wet' or 'dry' day (dry days are brighter).
Mean relative humidity today: The mean of the distribution from which to choose today's
relative humidity. Comes from long-term monthly average humidity interpolated (smoothed) for this day
of the year, and from whether this is a 'wet' or 'dry' day.
