Changing the drawing order

To move one or more plants in the drawing order,

Select the plants in the main window.
gif/plantstudio00090000.gif Choose Bring Forward or Send Backward from the Layout menu, or type the menu shortcut (Control-[ or Control-]), or type Shift-up-arrow or Shift-down-arrow.

PlantStudio isn't a true 3D program because you can't move the plants in 3D space in relation to each other. The drawing order is a simplification of 3D space in terms of overlapping only. You can't produce a real 3D scene of plants in PlantStudio, but you can approximate the effect yourself by manipulating the drawing order and by changing the scale of plants depending on how far away you want them to appear. For a top-down view you can rotate all the plants until you are seeing them from the top.
