Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Plant daily size group

Plant height: The simulated height of this plant. Simulated height may not correlate well with drawn height.

Plant area covered: This aspect is not used in this version of the simulation.

Root depth: The vertical distance measured from the soil surface to the depth this plant's roots reach. Increases to a parameter maximum based on heat unit index. Also, roots must be at least as deep as the plant is tall (this may not be realistic for all plants).

Number of soil layers roots enter: The number of soil layers in which the roots of this plant are present, counting from the top soil layer.

Root system diameter: Derived in the same way as root depth (by heat unit index) but not used for anything in this version of the simulation. Possible use in the future for spatial component to plant competition.

Plant is supported: This aspect is not used in this version of the simulation.
