Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: biomass

Biomass is just mass that is alive or that has been alive relatively recently; it has not lost its cohesion. Wood is biomass; we are biomass; plants are biomass; dogs are biomass.

This simulation models biomass as dry weight, that is, the mass of the plant without considering water. This is often done in agricultural studies because the wet weight of a plant can fluctuate greatly due to changing water uptake. When you harvest parts of the plant in this simulation, we use the percentage of water by weight (from a harvest item) to calculate the wet weight of the harvest.

How it works:
plant potential biomass increase
plant actual biomass increase
plant water uptake
