Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: How to collapse or expand the garden window

On the garden window toolbar, the first button has an arrow pointing up or down. If the arrow points up gif/00000003.gif, it means that the garden window is at its full size and that clicking on the button will collapse the window. If the arrow points down gif/00000051.gif, it means that the garden window is collapsed and that clicking on the button will expand the window to its full size.

The garden window in the collapsed state

When the garden window is collapsed, it is much smaller and easier to put out of the way. Also, it does not need to redraw itself (and all its soil patches and plants) whenever you run the simulation.

Note that you can't maximize the garden window. You can minimize the window or make it smaller, but you can't make it any larger than the garden backdrop size or garden size inside it. You can change the garden size (and therefore window size) by using a larger backdrop bitmap or by turning off the backdrop and using a larger garden size (see the backdrop options window). A larger garden size will require more memory, though.
