PlantStudio Required System

  • Windows 95/98/2000/Me or Windows NT 4.0 (or emulation on Mac)
  • 100 MHz Pentium or faster (or equivalent speed on Mac)
  • 8 MB RAM (16 MB recommended)
  • 256-color video capability (16-bit color or better strongly recommended)
  • mouse or other pointing device
  • 5 MB hard disk space
To all you Mac folks:

Our sincere thanks to the many Mac people who sent answers to our questions. We had some time to put in some heavy work on PlantStudio recently (evidenced by PS2), and during that time we considered doing a port to a cross-platform solution, but we reluctantly decided we didn't have enough time to pull it off. We may revisit the decision later. We have, however, added OBJ format in PS2, which we know many Mac users were asking for. It's not much, but...

Also, we point you to Drew Costigan's plant CD-ROM available at 3dplants.com, which is based on plants created in PlantStudio and elsewhere. Drew has done a great job making some very useful plants and shrubbery. Also on our links page we list a few other places that have plant models for download.
